Wilkins House

The owners of this house needed additional space, a garage, and wanted to make the appearance of the house more attractive. The house also sat back on the lot and there was concern that houses would be built on either side. This would reduce their views. The solution was to move the house forward on the site and extend an addition to the rear that contained a new master bedroom and a den. A new entrance porch was added that also provided a covered deck off the living room upstairs. A single car garage was placed towards the rear of the property on the north side. This helped create a protected outdoor space that is accessed from the den. The appearance of the house was improved by raising the roof, creating a more pleasing roof line, as well as allowing a vaulted ceiling in the living/dining area.
